Raaj the Showman is a 2009 Kannada language film starring Puneet Rajkumar and Priyanka Kothari, making her debut in the Kannada film industry. It was directed by Prem, director of the popular film, Jogi.

Muththuraj (Puneeth Rajkumar) lives happily with his parents in a village, and his only desire is to be an actor. He comes to the city to become to pursue this goal and ends up being a junior actor in films. Meanwhile, an associate director who has full confidence in his talents starts his new film with Muththuraj as the hero. However, the film's heroine, Parvathy (Nisha Kothari), walks out because she is not keen on working in films and had only agreed to it as a result of the persistence of the director. Muththuraj starts pestering her to work with him. Meanwhile, her two relatives, who have underworld connections, want to arrange a marriage for her. She escapes with Muththuraj, and she falls in love with him. The second half of the film deals with how Muththuraj saves Parvathy and realizes his dream.
The film is said to be high budget in the Kannada film industry. It had a wide release in the Karnataka and overseas. Fans began purchasing tickets of Raaj the Showman five days before the day of release at the respective theatre counters. [1]
It received mixed reviews upon release. Indiaglitz gave it 1/5, declaring it one of Puneet Rajkumar's most unsuccessful films. It was released at the same time as Magadheera. The film had a bumper opening at the Boxoffice. The movies sole strength was its hero Puneeth Rajkumar.
Within the span of two days, nearly 100,000 audio cassettes and CDs of Raaj the Showman had been sold in the market.[2]
